Weekend visit from Grandmommy and Granddaddy Deckert

Grandmommy and Granddaddy Deckert visited us this weekend from Salisbury Maryland. The twins enjoyed the extra attention and love and were happy to show off some new tricks. Katie learned how to make "raspberries." She thought it was extremely funny and loved the attention it brought her. Max sat up on his own for the first time this weekend. He is doing very well with his balance and we couldn't be more proud. He is about one month behind Katie developmentally. Katie sat up by herself at about 6 months old.

Grandmommy and Granddaddy stayed an extra day to be home with Max as he has not been feeling good. He can't go back to school unless he has been "puke" free for 24 hours. Daddy had to stay home with him today since he lost his milk this morning about one hour before school time. Other than the occasional puke - he is feeling FINE! We are baffled by this! No fever, no other symptoms, perfectly happy little boy. Personally I think he is really enjoying the special one-on-one attention he is getting and might be "playing hooky" from school. Do they have that much knowledge at 7 months old??
We'll plan to see my parents again over Labor Day weekend when we travel to the Eastern Shore. That will be the kids longest trip yet - 4 hours. We took them to OBX earlier this summer and they did "ok" in the car but get really tired of their car seats after a few hours. We are having to come up with some creative solutions for a four hour car ride!
Also - note: I am now officially on Facebook! I have entered the 21st century! (and OMG it is addictive...)

7 Months Old Today

The twins are 7 months old today and I have finally found some time to create a blog. I have wanted to write updates and share photos of Katie and Max for several months but (as you can imagine) never seem to find the time. They keep us very busy! The photos above are from Father's Day (and they both look exactly like Eric).

I was originally inspired to blog about our new babies while reading my friend Kristi's blog of her identical twin boys, Bryan and Jonathan. Her blog can be found here: http://www.bryanandjonathan.blogspot.com/. I loved this idea and thought I would join her on blogspot. So here we are - finally! To Kristi and Matt - we miss you guys lots and love seeing updates on the boys. They are just beautiful. Happy Birthday to them this month - August 19th - they will be 2 years old!

To our friends and family who find us here - enjoy the updates and photos and feel free to leave us comments!

Love,
Becky, Eric, Katie and Max
